Our First Date…
At a time in our lives where we were both consumed by our careers, we were captivated by a conversation online. We had to meet. That fateful night, after another long day’s work, Craig attempted to take Katie out for a late dinner. Surprised to discover that the kitchen was closed and the restaurant only offered a bar at that hour, he had to find a creative solution quickly. The Montage’s sweeping views, calm environment, thoughtful service and extensive wine list came to mind. Out on the balcony, with the gardens sprawling and the waves crashing beneath us, we found ourselves lost in conversation, once again. The hours slipped past us as Katie barely sipped her wine! From the onset, there was an honest connection. We could not have known what our future held, but we knew what we were embarking on was deep and powerful. Honest to the point of vulnerability, we had set the stage for something real. We shared our first kiss that night as Craig walked Katie to her door—a kiss with all of the excitement and promise of more to come. But, better yet, as Katie shut her door and Craig strolled back to his car, he knew they had plenty of time.
